One Step Equations GCSE Maths

One step equations are usually the first algebra equations students learn in GCSE Maths.

Simple Example

Solve:
x + 4 = 11

Subtract 4 from both sides:

Exam tip: Whatever you do to one side of the equation, do the same to the other.
